  1. The meeting was called to order at 8:20 A.M. in the President's = Dining=20 Room, Palms Dining Center.=20
  2. Minutes of March 11, 1997 were approved.=20
  3. Treasurer's Report - by Bill Bennett

    1. Election Recognition Committee - Sandra Denson reported that the = nomination forms have gone out.=20
    2. Policy Committee - Blake Griffin reported that COSA was not = represented=20 in the Statutes of VSU. The Bylaws changes should be made across the = board.=20 The Parliamentarian can go through the minutes each year. Blake = discussed=20 the possibility of adding an Addendum to the Bylaws (Article 8) for=20 maintenance. In Article 3 Section A Paragraph 4 it states the duties = of the=20 Parliamentarian.=20
    3. Welfare Committee - Beverly Sharpe reported that in the Faculty = Senate=20 minutes it was stated Dr. Bergstrom is Chair of the campus = Beautification=20 committee. The Faculty Senate has delayed an consideration of the = Retirement=20 Walkway.=20
    4. Salaries Study- Tim Yorkey reported the study will be completed = by the=20 next COSA meegin. The Salary committee will present their = recommendations.=20

Report from the Chair-=20

Concern expressed regarding the Governor and Chancellor program is = trying to=20 get the faculty averag salaries near the top in the Southeast. No = evidence has=20 been presented that staff salaries have been given any consideration.=20

    1. Parking - COSA has no information regarding parking.=20
    2. Direct Deposit - A questionnaire was distributed with the pay = checks.=20 The results are not known yet. Biweekly employees are encouraged to = complete=20 them.
