 for our 6-week instructor-facilitated online courses you may select one of the following options:

Once you have completed the enrollment process, call our office (229-245-6484) and provide us with payment information, mail a check to VSU Continuing Education, 1500 N Patterson St, Valdosta GA, 31698-0435, or stop by our office located in the Regional Center for Continuing Education at 903 N Patterson Street, Valdosta GA.
  • Call our office (229-245-6484). We will take your registration and payment information and send you an email confirmation with instructions for completing the course orientation.
  • Stop by our office and drop off your registration and payment (Click here for PDF registration form). We are located in theRegional Center for Continuing Education at 903 N Patterson Street, Valdosta GA and we love to meet our customers!

     General Requirements:  
Specific information regarding the requirements for each class is available by clicking on the course title above and selecting "Requirements"

Photoshop CS4, CS5, or CS6 - Introduction

Adobe Photoshop CS?, Adobe Photoshop CS? Extended, or any version of Adobe Creative Suite CS? that includes the Adobe Photoshop CS? or Adobe Photoshop CS? Extended software (for either Windows or Mac); software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins; Windows 7, Windows XP, or Windows Vista; Mac OS X.

 Internet access, e-mail, the Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox Web browser.

Adobe Flash and PDF plug-ins (two free and simple downloads you obtain athttp://www.adobe.com/downloads by clicking Get Adobe Flash Player and Get Adobe Reader). You must be able to download files in Zip format from the Internet and have a basic knowledge of how to use your computer.


Photoshop CS4, CS5, or CS6 - Intermediate

In addition to the software, hardware, and Internet requirements outlined above for the Introduction courses , the following is required:

You need to have completed Introduction to Photoshop CS3, CS4, CS5, or CS6. If you have not taken one of these courses, you need to have a good working knowledge of the basic tools in Photoshop and be able to make selections, use the Clone Stamp tool and Healing brushes, and do elementary color correction.

In addition, you will need to have a program that extracts the example files from the Zip file provided with each lesson. You need to know how to create a new file folder and locate files on your hard drive.

If you wish to share your work with the instructor, you will need an online album in which to display your work. I'll provide instructions for this in the first lesson.

Photoshop Elements 9, 10, or 11

Appropriate version of Adobe Photoshop Elements for Windows/Mac for the course enrolled (software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins); Windows XP w/ Service Pack 2 or 3/Vista/Windows 7 or Mac OS X, 10.5.8 or v10.6; Internet access; e-mail; and the Internet Explorer or Netscape or Firefox Web browser.

Note: This course is written for the Windows version of the software. Mac students are welcome, but will need to make standard Windows/Mac keystroke conversions. Teaching staff has Mac software and equipment available and can help troubleshoot with Mac students to complete course material if necessary.
