Yangzhou University (YZU) is a key comprehensive university at provincial level. It has its roots in Yangzhou Teachers College, Jiangsu Agricultural College, Yangzhou Engineering College, Yangzhou Medical College, Jiangsu Water Conservancy College and Jiangsu Business College, some dating back as early as 1902. The merger of these colleges and institutions in 1992 into YZU kindled a reform in education, which is still underway, in present China.
Yangzhou University has seven campuses, all adjacent to each other and within walking distance. All these campuses are located between the old city of Yangzhou and the new part and are easily accessible. Each campus has its own libraries, computer labs, language labs, sports ground, residential halls, canteens, clinics, and other students services. See more information on individual campuses.
Yangzhou, where Yangzhou University is located, is a culture-loaded city with a long history of over 2500 years. The city is located in the central part of Jiangsu Province, north Shanghai. The city itself is a museum of Chinese culture and a beautiful Chinese garden.
