VSU Summer Study Abroad Program: Learn Spanish in Cádiz, Spain |
Cádiz is located on Spain’s Costa de la Luz in Andalucía, the southernmost province of Spain. You will live within walking distance of beautiful beaches, shops, restaurants, and the university. Classes are held at the University of Cádiz where the professors utilize innovative communicative techniques for language instruction. Duration / Location: June 25 – July 28, 2013 Cost: $4,800 plus VSU Tuition The program fee includes three nights in Madrid and excursions to the Sevilla, Pueblos Blancos, and El Puerto de Santa Maria (bodega & castle), as well as overnight excursions to Córdoba and Toledo. Optional excursions are available to Barcelona, Gibraltar, and Granada. Also included in program: Round trip international airfare from Atlanta to Madrid, airport transfers, round trip transportation from Madrid to Cádiz, full room and board for four weeks in Cádiz, weekly laundry service, health insurance, and all program fees for the University of Cádiz.

Consider spending the summer in Madrid, the geographic center of Spain and the historic center of the entire Hispanic world. The city of three million is a modern European hub with state-of-the-art transportation and cyber cafés, but its Old World charm shines through in its long afternoon siestas, its warm and friendly people, and its majestic monuments to Spain’s glorious past. Duration / Location: Five Weeks / Madrid Spain. Program fee includes housing, most meals, round-trip international airfare, cultural events, a subway pass for unlimited travel on the Madrid subway system, and eight-day rail pass for travel throughout Spain, Portugal, and France.
