Syktyvkar is the administrative, educational, cultural, and industrial center of the Komi Republic in northern European Russia. The city offers access to museums, concerts, and plays in addition to outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing. VSU tuition and fees, dorm fee, and meal plan; airfare; spending money.

Samara

Samara is situated on the picturesque bank of the river Volga, the longest and mightiest river in Europe.  It is the economic and cultural center of the region, with theaters, museums, and numerous attractions.

Samara State University is an outward looking institution with some classes offered in English. Students should, however, have at least two years of Russian before applying for an exchange.
