VSU Summer Study Abroad Program: Belize Summer Field School |
- The VSU Belize Summer Field School operates as an ethnographic field school. Students will participate- observe in the village of Santa Elena (population: 400) on a topic to be decided upon in consultation with the professor.
- The itinerary of the VSU Belize Summer Field School involves taking up residence in the coastal village of Santa Elena for the majority of time (Monday through Friday), and weekend field trips to the barrier reef, the rainforest, and Mayan ruins in Guatemala.
- Duration June 3 - June 30, 2013
- The price is $2,530. This includes airfare, ground transportation, room, board, in-country fees and excursions. The price does not include tuition.

GCSU Summer Study Abroad Program: Study Tropical Ecology in Belize |
 |
Venture into the tropical rainforests of Belize to discover the principles of environmental science and ecology. Witness the remains of ancient Mayan civilizations and explore both ancient and contemporary cultures. Snorkel in the clear blue waters near coastal island shores to explore sea grass beds and coral reefs. Learn more about Belize’s unique ecosystems and the impacts of past and present populations on their ecological functions while experiencing both tropical and island life. Interact with and learn about local students who will be taking the class along with you.
