CAR's goal is to connect faculty expertise in the College of Arts & Sciences with applied research needs within our 41-county service region. Mission Statement
The Center for Applied Research strives to promote the development of applied research beneficial to governmental, private and non-profit institutions of the South Georgia region through:
- Encouraging faculty to engage in research for and with local governments, schools, non-profit organizations and businesses
- Promoting collaboration among faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences
- Promoting student participation in research
Announcements
Student Travel Awards are available. These awards provide up to $250 for students from the College of Arts & Sciences who are presenting a research paper or poster at a meeting. For application details, please download the form on the left.
Faculty Applied Research Seed Grants are also available. The ARSG program provides up to $1,000 to assist faculty in exploration (and possibly start-up) of applied research opportunities. Applications involving more than one faculty member are capped at $1500.
