Katrina on TV
Weather does what weather does whether good or not.
The world is what it is whether cold or really hot.
The weather cannot stand it when the world is feeling cold,
And when it’s not the world will whither both the young and old.
Must we weather with the world? The answer's really idle—
TV displays, the Doppler plays a swirling, dark recital.
Weather does what weather does—we cannot stop or stay it.
Weather wills what weather wills whether we will say it.
Wind and rain and waters pout, waters wind and rave,
They will their will from far and near the cowards and the brave.
I would the weather had not willed its wonder on the child
Who wandered worried on TV, who forgot she'd ever smiled.
