Count the Cost

Think of how He bled and died,

And on the Cross was crucified.

When you think of the Cross,

Always remember to count the cost.

Think of all the shame that He bore,

And the crown of prickly thorns He wore.

When you think of the Cross,

Always remember to count the cost.

Think of how much He was willing to give——up,

Just so that you and I would be able to live——eternally.

When you think of the Cross,

Don't forget to count the cost.

Think of how fiercely they pierced His side,

And mocked as He suffered, hung, and died.

When you think of the Cross,

Always remember to count the cost.

Think of how they plucked His beard,

And offered Him to drink vinegar.

When you think of the Cross,

Don't forget to count the cost.

Think of how they laid Him in the grave,

And placed a stone so He wouldn't escape.

When you think of the Cross,

Always remember to count the cost.

Think of how He rose again,

And the victory for us did win.

When you think of the Cross,

Don't forget to count the cost.

Think of how He did ascend,

And will return for us again.

When you think of the Cross,

Always remember to count the cost.

For He paid deeply and truly.
