Both the cadre and cadets are delighted you have chosen a path that will challenge you, motivate you and allow you to follow your dream of being an Air Force Officer in the worlds best Air Force!
First Step:
Get the facts! Join the cadre for a briefing and tour of Detachment 172. You will also have the opportunity to start the application process to streamline your acceptance into our program. Please call 229-333-5954 or 229-219-1296 to set up an appointment with our Recruiting Flight Commander.
You may also speak with a cadre member at VSU Freshmen Orientation. A representitive will be located at the Student Union between 12:15-2:00pm on 30 May, 1 Jun, 11 Jun, 15 Jun, 22 Jun, 25 Jun and 9 Aug.
Second Step: To join Air Force Reserve Corps (ROTC) cadets must maintain a full course load (12 credit hours) and register for aerospace studies (AS) classes. Please see below to determine what classes you need to take during the Spring 2012 semester:
Freshmen: AS1000 and AS1001
New Sophomores: AS1000, AS1001, AS2001( you must have a 3.0 CGPA upon entering)

Third Step:
Get Ready! Fitness is a big part of the ROTC program at Det 172. Your physical fitness abilities will be assessed throughout theacademic year. You must attempt a timed 1.5 mile run, one minute of push-ups and one minute of sit-ups. To better prepare you for this assessment, please visit: The Air Force Fitness Program web site for videos, news and proper form.
