Not all Air Force ROTC detachments are the same, so we would like to introduce you to one of the best,
AFROTC Det 172 at Valdosta State University . We are proud of our activities and academic support program that set us and our enthusiastic cadets who are the backbone of our program, apart.
There are a number of activities from which our cadets benefit:
We have a special group of cadets who sincerely care about each other and work together
The Cadet Tutor Program, which finds tutors for cadets struggling in classes. Academics is our first priority!
Running and weight lifting club
Air Force Base visits and orientation flights on Air Force aircraft
Guest speakers from the Air Force
- Cadet lounge with Kinect, foosball, billards, cable TV, snack bar, etc.
- Cadet workspace with computers, phone, copy machine, and supplies
Recognition through cadet awards and news articles
Strong, active Arnold Air Society, a voluntary, honorary service organization
- Promote POW/MIA awareness
- Sponsor events for the cadet corps throughout the year
The detachment is served by an involved cadre of professional officers, non-commissioned officers and a civilian
who are dedicated and determined to commission high-quality officers for the world's greatest Air Force.
Our cadets come not only from Valdosta, but from three other Cross-town schools in the Valdosta area.
