ADULT LEARNING FOCUSED INITIATIVES AT VALDOSTA STATE UNIVERSITY
Valdosta State University is part of the 2009 Georgia College Access Challenge Program, sponsored by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, the Board of Regents, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. The funds from this grant will help VSU develop a template and guidelines to become a more Adult Learning Focused Institution (with priority on encouraging underrepresented adults to return to college).
This site contains all the research and data collected so far as part of this project:
- The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning’s (CAEL) Principles of Effectiveness for Serving Adult Learners
- Introduction to the Adult Learning Focused Institutional Self-Assessment (ISAS)
- Copy of the ISAS as submitted by VSU
- Summary of Perceptions, Executive Summary, and Preliminary Recommendations for each section of the ISAS
- Supporting Documentation for each ISAS section, describing the mission, programs, and services at VSU. This information should help form the basis for future discussion of options available for adult learners
- Adult Learner Population at VSU 2002-2008 (a report prepared by the Office of Strategic Research and Analysis)
- Adult and Military Programs
